Happy Solstice!
Went down to Denver town for a little libation,
Had a celebration, a standing ovation,
To honor these days, when the winter Sun stays, shoots His rays,
From a low, low angle, Ra seems to dangle,
Hanging in the sky, a bright jingle-jangle,
Asserting His prominence, His brilliant dominance,
Over blackest night and darkest times,
Accept these rhymes, the cheers and the chimes,
From one small creature, a moment's feature,
Who greets Your rise, hopeful wise,
And grieves Your setting, a spectral blood-letting,
But who always knows, how Apollo shows,
The way to the Light, to Peace and Right,
And a dawning Spring, to a cold, hard world new life You bring,
For that we sing, and praise the King,
And remember He gives Life to Everything.
