Strange weekend! Elections in NZ, on edge because shortsighted beancounters got way too close to win. A good friend had a baby overnight (while we were obsessing over votes) and mjollnir is sad, and tired, and really worried about big fights around SG.
She loves this community -- strange connections she establishes with things that happen here, with things that she finds here. I am too much of a traveller, perhaps, to understand. I just wasn't built to belong... I did feel I belonged to some places, and some times, but that is always a volatile feeling. Belonging is not my natural state.
Olivia posted something, trying to clear the air. I believe her, most people will, but still... the dream is shattered. The rythms and times of the community are not always those of the business.
If I look at the history of other strong and successful online communities I belong to, SG cannot grow without pain and crises.
