A small note to all of those that are dissapointed with the election results. I thought I would find it difficult to write, and behave in a serious manner tonight about election results. I now find myself with no words lost. Many of us are from the midwest, or south, and some of us still reside there. We all could foresee the outcome of this election many months before. Instead of protesting about the outcome, we should look forward to another four years of having a somewhat unpopular president in the office. When the next election comes around, we should ask ourselves, "What did we do the last time to make new voters, as well as seasoned voters, decide to choose a different political platform?". Did we entice new voters in anti-Bush rallies with signs that ranged from "legalize pot", or "No war for oil". I think a future political rally should be targetted at one issue at a time, and done in a manner where it doesn't appear to be a three ring circus. John Kerry's administration would have never legalized the free use of pot. No country does. Go to Amsterdam, and walk past a police station or a cop with a joint in your hand. You'll soon find out the true outcome. The same goes for Canada, and Australia, and the UK, and even Jamaica. There will be a war in Iraq for many, many years to come no matter who our president is. Our brothers, and sisters, and husbands, and wives, and friends will still be called up no matter what. I too was very dissapointed with the oucome of this election, but I was even more dissapointed and ashamed by what came out of a lot of people's mouths tonight. If you have a problem with people coming from south of the border to "steal your job", you should probably go back to school and get a better education. There are many, many programs that can finance your endeavors. If you're complaining about not being able to get as many free condems, or birth control pills, you probably shouldn't be having sex in the first place. I can assure you that I did not vote for Bush this time around, but a lot of the topics that came up tonight were very illogical. I have a strong faith that every American that goes out to vote in the next presidential election will be more informed about issues, and they won't put on a huge carnival for the rest of the world to look upon as a joke. I have faith that we will use good judgement, and make an honest effort to make the democratic party respectable, and bring new voters in. I'm just venting about stuff I heard at work, and at the bar, and the journals that I have read, and some interviews I saw on TV, and the graffiti I read on the way home from work. We have the same president for another four years, and I think we all should just learn how to deal because there is nothing we can do about it, and hopefully we will learn to present ourselves to the world in a more proffesional manner next time around.
