So I cheated. I went out and hung out with friends who are already drunk. I spent the day trying to be good. And finally I walked down to Cheryl's with a manhatten in my hand, without spilling a drop. Frank Sinatra style. If a cop would ever drive up to me like this, I would slap him and be on my way because I live in Magnolia and I think we can. Come to think of it, I've never seen a cop in Magnolia. Just crazy old rich people. I'm soooooo drunk. But most likely noone will read this. I can't wait to see this a year from now.
I had to walk home without everyone else. They were too drunk. I'm so proud of myself. Things unfolded as I predicted and stated earlier this month. Why can't anyone else be as straightforward out here? Is that how people are out in the northwest?
I talked to my mother today. I feel so guilty for sounding like a salesman making a courtesy call. I haven't talked to any one in so long because of the production. It's only going to get worse. I am truly a citizen of this country now. I have no time for any one else. I'll be a terrible husband and father when the time presents itself. Hopefully things will get better once I start the film. I'm too drunk to write anymore but it feels good to get this out of my system now.
My dad comes out in a few weeks. I need him to go home and tell everyone that I'm doing well. My mother makes me out to be a refugee from some impoverished nation. I'm not. I'm doing better than I ever have been, and from the looks of it, I'll be doing alright for a long time.
I can tell evryone else that the most wonderful thing in life is to work for yourself. For you yanks, that doesn't mean being rich, it means having complete control of your own destiny. I look up to my old bosses, and see what I can do better in the business world.
Every Elvis has his army,
Every rattlesnke his charm,
The last thing you need is another
episode.
I'm sorry that's just an awesome broken song lyric that I'm listening to. Declan Macmanus/Elvis Costello.
I so can't wait to see this a year from now. I probably won't be as drunk as I am now and reverting to the Roget's Superthesaurus for words of inspiration, with a greyhound sitting in front of me.
I'm almost done with the final shooting script of haywire. I'll work on everything that I wrote drunk tonight, tomorrow afternoon. The next week I'll be posting a lot of shit in the stranger for roles so if any of you are interested, and have some sort of acting ability, look up my website, or e-mail me. For your sake you should be from the Seattle area because I'm not paying for your gas or fare.
Time for bed.
Bye,
Henry
