Well, what can I say...
quite a lot of things happened that were not expected
but then again, watching everything from a higher, detached perspective
and considering that we are talking about human nature...
it was maybe all to be expected,
after all.
Certainly nothing new.
I do not really feel like going into details,
except that no matter how old I have grown,
I am still always surprised by the ease with which certain people LIE.
I have always felt guilty, as a child, when I lied to protect myself.
The thought of lying to take advantage of someone, to obtain a personal gain
and/or gratification, all to someone's expenses, never even touched me.
There are several kinds of things which I can't even conceive doing to someone
and it does not matter if I know that person
or if we are talking about a total stranger.
It is a damn human being as YOU are, dammit.
How was that? "Do unto others as you would... etc etc"?
So many "humans" failed to realise that this famous advice
did not just contain a "noble" meaning;
it was, first of all, a LOGICAL one:
How would you feel to be used?
Bad, right?
Then why did you do that?
See? So many "humans" lose it at this point.
Totally unable to fill in the gaps, read between the lines, unite the dots,
totally unable to make the connection between themselves
and the other human beings,
which brings to the idea that they should support the others,
not take advantage of them,
which brings to the idea of something called ETHICS.
Ethics.
They are gone.
Somehow,
along the line of our ridiculous media-inspired, rockstar-wannabe lifestyles,
the mind-numbing organized slavery of 9 to 5 employment,
the mass-brainwashing of television and magazines, designed to turn us into idiots
and the progressive inability
of each and every one of us
to actually -grow up- into a real *adult*,
someone's hidden will is quietly turning us all into animals again,
easy to control because essentially stupid and ready to eat each other.
I am probably just getting old
but I can't help thinking that if, 15 years ago, you would have asked a kid
what's the use of telephone,
he would tell you, right on, that it's used to talk to people.
Ask today and you'll be amazed at the number of teenagers
who would tell you that you use it to make a movie of your sister
while she fucks the teacher,
so you can then blackmail him
and get money to buy that D&G belt your friends will love you for!!!!
Guaranteed, I am deliberately exaggerating my point
to make sure it goes through.
The fact is,
I am disgusted
and I was probably born like that.
I feel better, anyway,
when I think that it was a disgusted generation
that created rock music.
What is this generation going to leave to posterity?
