Yeah, we are so very done with this apartment.
The other day the landlord called me because she wanted to talk to Christine. Apparently some time in October, two guys knocked on the door asking about some dude Christine had never heard of, and the downstairs (landlord's) apartment.
She said she had never seen or heard of the guy, and as far as she knew it was Michelle (landlord), Jamar, Jamar's ex and his son. (As far as I knew, that was also what I thought)
Well apparently the guy is the landlord's husband, who "does" live downstairs...even though he is literally never around...
and now they are checking into him more and his citizenship (probably a fucking green card marriage...)
She wants Christine to sign some paper saying she was unaware of him living downstairs because we were new tenants etc etc.
The point is, yet again...we are getting pulled into her fucking bullshit drama and we want no part in it.
We want to pay rent, and be left the fuck ALONE...that is all we have ever wanted...and it just doesn't happen in this place.
So yeah...I am mailing the "we are leaving by February 1st" letter on her on December 31 so that she has no reason to call the cops on the party we are having New Years eve, and that is that.
Telling her to keep the security deposit as January's rent, and that we will be leaving the washer and dryer as a gift of "good faith' (because I do not want to move them again...)

I agree...and ussually more expensive than paying a mortgage note but ya do what ya have to do. Thats a pretty odd situation. Good luck.
