All is mostly well in the realm of Grant. I've been preoccupied with work and the weekends go by far too quickly. I've been making it a goal of mine to try at least 2 new bars every weekend and have been successful since I got here. I'm only about 5 minutes driving distance from the downtown area where all the nightlife happens which is great. For some reason it still doesn't feel like home. I know, I've only been here for a little over a month but it's just such a difference. I sort of knew what to expect but at the same time I didn't think it would be such a drastic change.

I miss all of my amazing friends back in California and can't wait to visit them. I miss the amazing weather that I have back on the west coast. The weather here has been either really humid or really dreary. We've had a couple of pretty crazy thunderstorms as well.

On a side note my living situation hasn't exactly been working out as I had hoped. My mom and I haven't exactly been getting along recently and it's causing a lot of hostility. I keep telling myself that's it's merely temporary until I save up a little cash and find a place of my own but that doesn't make it any easier.

I came home the other night and she had one too many drinks and proceeded to berate and belittle me for no apparent reason. My father and my mom haven't exactly been getting along that well either so this sort of just added insult to injury. It's been very tense the last couple days and it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. I just hope it's nothing too extreme.

3-day weekend coming up! I'm excited. The weekend is so much more anticipated than it used to be. I get to sleep in and do things I wouldn't otherwise have time for on the weekdays, it's really nice.
