I really don't know any place or person in perticular that would have that information. I do know that with a little research at a library, there are various books that list most known makers marks, time periods, average value and quality of said pieces, etc

My place of work unfortunatly just deals with new pieces, some machine stamped POS swords, some actually quality pieces.
