helter

Went shooting with some friends yesterday... None of them had ever fired a gun before, so that was fun. I always enjoy introducing new people to the joys of shooting.
I let them do most of the shooting, doing my best to watch and advise where I could. There were four of us split up amoung two lanes, so it got a little hectic at times (especially when there were jams).

I brought out my 9mm, and we rented a beretta .380 from the range. Of course, being sunday the thing was fouled all to hell and kept misfeeding. Next time I rent a gun on the weekend I'm going to have to remember to bring some cleaning supplies to just give the thing a quick going over before shooting.
Anyway, we had a good time. They picked up the basics pretty quickly, and two of them were able to hit the red at 10 yards with 2-4 shots of each 10 round magazine, and keep most of the rest pretty close.

I really need to get down to the range more often... Or really, I need to finally get around to building that pistol range in my basement.
