Hear, hear. I thought a lot about my tattoos before deciding I'd commit. What it boils down to is the meaning (well, I'm only really interested in words, because they're less forgiving and more definite...images are wonderful at symbolizing many things, so I'd feel pretentious using them); I see it as a permanent scar, a figurative burning the hand on the stove when I was ignorant, a reminder. I'm comfortable with the idea that it may become very ugly and blurry in the future. But who knows if I'll be laughing at my audacity to think like this when I'm 75. (Or lamenting. )

Er. Spammy-spam aside, Ed is the name of the computer hacking girly-girl on the cartoon/anime series "Cowboy Bebop," and apparently I resemble her muchly in attitude and...I don't know what else. Well, when I'm happy and flighty. Plus it's short and cute.
