Comic-Con was awesome. Not as good as last year, but much fun. But now's when the real adventure begins. I started getting a little nervous towards the end of the con. I was leaving alone with no destination. At the con, I saw a lot of cool comics, toys, movies, anime, etc... but it was just for me to enjoy while there. I need to move beyond owning these things. After all, one can only fit so much in a Geo Metro, and I'm completely broke anyways.

I slept in my car every night of the convention and have gotten pretty used to it. After the convention was over, I said goodbye to D and Shane, ate an excellent fish taco at the Tin Fish across the street, and proceeded to my car. I drove to a gas station, stole a map of San Diego and one of California, and washed my filthy windows. I drove a coupla miles up Highway Five North before I saw Highway Eight West to Ocean Beach. I said to myself, "Fuck it, first stop."

So I chilled in a coffee shop called Jungle Java, drank some coffee, and charged my phone and mp3 player. When the place closed at nine, I skated around a little and then just planted myself on the sidewalk. Lots of people walked by but nobody said more than "Hi.", but niether did I. Eventually I drove around and found a place to sleep a few blocks away. When I woke up, I went down to the beach and took a morning swim in the ocean, showered in the public shower there, and cleaned my car. then I skated around some more, ate a cheap burrito, and then kicked back in the park in my headphones. After that, I came here to the Ocean Beach Public Library, and sat in the seat I'm in now.

You can't run away from yourself, I'm still an introvert. But You can run away from the confines of your daily routine. You can choose adventure over comfort, and who knows... maybe, eventually, my people will find me sitting on the sidewalk. In the meantime, here's to adventure.

If you're in SoCal, and wanna hang out, call me.
