It was a big treat to go to the Rutgers Athletic Centre and see RU vs. #1 UCONN ... although the scarlet knights lost 75-74 to be in a packed house with 8,044 fans was wicked fun. I need to see more games ....

Some friends of mine from work have been nattering at us to go and see Big Fish with them. I've been waffling thus far, but I decided after seeing your review that I'll go check it out.
I'd consider myself a big enough movie fan, but I seldom go out to the theatres. Looks like this may be one to make the exception for.

Big Fish is very burtonesque ... if you like Edward Scissorhands and nightmare before christmas you liek it .. it definitely captures the spirit of southern tall tales and is beautiful to look at and very well acted .....
Right now it is probably my number 3 favorite movie of the year after American Splendor and LOTR 3 .... I am still interested in seeing Master and Commander and the Triplets of Belleville which may make my list ...
I actually feel obligated to see Cold Mountain because it is likely to be competition for LOTR (who I would love to see win Best Picture for one of the greatest epics ever captured on the big screen) ...
My pick for most overrated movie is the incredibly slow "Lost in Translation" ... Bill Murray is very good as the American actor insomniac pitching Whisky and Tokyo looks lovely but I must have checked my watch 15 times wondering when the movie might end .... So it goes....

I know many of you have not seen it yet, so I will not give any spoilers .... suffice it to say it has some of the best battle scenes ever filmed ...
I also got my picture up when I was finally able to change the aspect ratio slightly so it could be 235*175 instead...

I also dropped off my kitten ...Hunter "Socks" Thompson to the vet to be spayed ..... He was a very brave kitty this morning and I hope he comes through everything well.
It does feel weird that he isn't hanging out with me meowing or laying in the chair ....
I also couldn't believe how quiet he was on the bus to the vet and the vet's office ... considering he has not been out of the railroad apartment in like 3 months and was freaking out walking down 151st st. (i live in Harlem, nYC) he was really cool on the bus...
I hope he still loves me in the morning.
So a big day for me and I will see LOTR again next week to see even more things in it.
Now that I have seen all 3 movies feel I can read the book without feeling like i have to compare the movie to the novel.
Anyway see LOTR ASAP ... the Return of the King is an absolutely brillant entertainment (*****) I hope and pray that it gets the Best Picture, Best Director ... Oscars it richly deserves.... Its an AMAZING movie.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I must say though that shopping in NYC can be a huge pain ... its nice not to have to park in parking lots but to carry all your bags around and switch subways to get places can be mighty frustrating ... And although Macy's has one of the best store windows you will see anywhere...

your fantasy gets me going...Just wanted to say hello ... had my second improv performance today as the end of my Upright Citizens Brigade level 1 program (http://www.ucbt.net) ... It was a good show but difficult to accomplish 15 people doing 2 person scenes in about 40 minutes ....
