one afternoon i was sitting at outside the library. i was using a convex mirror to cut my hair. hello kitty kept pointing at my foot and then at my mirror and then at the sun. she kept going between all three for like ten minutes, and i kept trying our guessing game, where i ask yes or no questions. finally i ask her "do you want me to point the reflection at my foot?" she vigurouly shook her head "yes" so i point the mirror at my boot...when the sun caught the mirror and hit the boot from where i was sitting, it immeadiately burned a hole in the canvas in under five seconds. "holy crap" i thought!
ok, so now she points at my cigarettes. so i pick one up and relect the mirror light at the cigarette, at the same distance my boot was, and almost instantly the cugarette lit.
ok. get this. remember the story of the burning of the library in alexandria, greece? the myths state that the fire was started by the lighthouse that was there. they used convex mirrors to reflect sunlight and fire light for ancient ships. she showed me how to light a cigarette with a mirror at the library here believe in her yet? she is the spinx!
