* 140 miles from Fairbanks
* 60 miles short of the Arctic circle
* In breakup - roads dry, world slushy
* River in theory should be very pretty
* River at the moment covered in snow
* Snow covered river should also be pretty
* Can't find out because trails to riverside covered with thigh-deep slushy snow
* No snowshoes in car
* Lots of excellent floodplain mud as free gift from river god to shoes
But I did identify a few more good aurora shooting spots, whether I am able to use them in the next couple of weeks, or waiting till September.
Enjoy Canad-a-maine. Some day I'll be up that way, I hope.
