My mom called me about 8:15. She said Baby was having a lot of trouble breathing, and that it was time.

I met her and Dr. Johnson out at the clinic shortly thereafter.


I stroked her fur and I talked to her. She knew she wasn't alone.

In the end, her blood pressure was too low for the injection to take in her paw, so we left the room and he put it directly into her heart. Beforehand he gave her a shot of pain medication, so she wouldn't hurt.


And now she's gone. I know it's better for her, I know she isn't hurting anymore. But I'm so sad.


At least now she can go be with Aunt Jackie. She got to talk to Robert tonight on the phone. Or rather he got to talk to her. But she knew it was him, and I think it calmed her.
