Today was a day of getting a whole lot of little chores done. Things that needed to be taken care, for the most part were. Except of course for me telling that story of my trip to LA. So on that score I still suck ass.
however I did my haircut, well basically shorn. Well not shorn, but short. I've learned that when I work out doors in hot weather short hair is just the way to go. And it grows back. I also scheduled an eye exam and brought my $20 pair of anitique frames to the optomitrist. I haven't had my perscription updated since 1990, so I figured I'm about due. Also my old pair is 130 odd years old and I've been wearing them since 1990, and I recently mended the bow with electrical tape which didn't show before I cut my hair real short, and yes people when I find a pair of glasses I like I stick with them to the end. Of course that's pretty much true of me and lots of other things in my life. So last month I found a pair of glasses at a flea market very similar to the ones I have, bu if anything a little studier and better designed. I got 'em for $20, as well as a pair of wire rimmed art deco frames from the 30's. So with these in hand I wandered over to the local eye place to restore my vision.
It all went well except that I had to explain to the optomotrist that the new frames which are identical for the most part to my current frames, would stand up to the abuse of being on my face. And since my current frames date back to the 1870's and I wore them for close to 15 years I'm not worried about it. I think the new frames go back to the 1880's but I'm not sure. Anyway come Thurday I should have new glasses, and that pesky night blindness will be in the past.
What a pointless, pointless entry.
