I suppose it's good that I have to be down at my uncle's warehouse at 6AM tommorow. If I went out tonight I'd get nothing done. I need to finish all my script notes, finish painting those doors, and start packing my stuff up. Right now my plan is to head up to Charlotte on Sunday to meet with my friend who's producing this script. We'll proably spend a couple days going over everything, then I have to be up in Connecticut for a job on the 19th or so. I'll have to try to land myself someplace interesting for St. Patricks Day since it is my national holiday. I used to always either go down to NYC or up to Boston, and one time Dublin (although in Ireland it's more of a religeos holiday, not at all like the drunken fest it is here in the States). I went to Savannah for it one year, but there were too many frat boys whoopin' it up for my taste. Not that I'm abovce getting drunk on St. Pats it's just that I'm not fan being squashed into a beer forced to swill green beer while Bob Seegar plays on the stero. And who listens to Bob Seegar on St. Patricks day? That's kind of disconcerting. Back home there was always a couple Irish bars where you could go get a corned beef and cabbage dinner, drink your weight in Guiness and listen to some good live music. It's tough to find that down south. Maybe I'll get up into the Northeast by the 17th. So far that's the best place I've found to spend St Patricks day.
So here's a few more questions while I go off to try to do some work.

1) What are your St. Patrick's Day plans?

2) What's your favorite holiday and why?

3) What's your favorite time of day and why?

Okay so it's late, but here's my answers:

1) I don't know, haven't gotten that far yet. Either I'll celebrate it in NC, Connecticut or somewhere in between. Regardless it'll be better than last year when I was all banged up and unable to celebrate it at all.

2) Hmmm, it's either a toss up between 4th of July or Thanksgiving (amazingly enough it's not St. Patricks Day). I like 4th of July for no good particular reason except generally I always have fun on that particular holiday and I think fun's an oft overlooked part of holidays. And Thanksgiving, because it's usually one of the few times of the year I get to see my extended family, so that's nice as well.

3) At the risk of sounding like an ass, they're all pretty good. Certain times of days for certain season's I guess. I love late afternoons or evenings in the fall, but then mornings are also good that time of year. I like cities really late at night, and the time right before dawn is probably the best part of anyday. Even if it's a work day and you just got up, and on the opposite side of the coin if you're just going to sleep. There's something about the feel of everything being about to happen. It's special that way.

Well I guess that's it. I'll have to come up with tomorrow's questions later tonight since I'll be seeing the dawn tomorrow. We'll see how I feel about dawn then.

No offense to Jesus, who was by all accounts a great guy, but the Pagan parts of the holidays are just more fun. It's funny how the church managed to combine Jesus into whatever was going on locally. I read a great book called about how they did this in Sicily. My Italian teacher was Sicilan, so I can basically only talk like her. I can hardly understand a Toscano, and they certainly can't understand me. smile
Gotta get packing!

I know, pretty pathetic of me not to do anything fun on St Patricks Day...boring vanilla WASP, that's me!! Make sure you party for the both of us!! Looking forward to your answers.
I'd love to learn more about your script if you are willing to share.
