Mm, spent a fantasic night with our friends Maria and Josh (Ramiia) at their new place. Played "Munchkin" which is a riotously fun card game, and imbibed with my hosts.
Their house is still really creepy. Apparently the former tenants were adult children of abuse (in their 40's) living with their mom. Dad (the hitter) had been dead for about 15 years or so. When my friends moved in, they found chicken bones wedged into woodwork, a doll head wired to a spike in a tree in the back yard, a large kitchen knife wedged into a telephone pole in their back yard, and on the third floor: An envelope with "Mom's Hair" written on it that seemed to be full of (you guessed it) Mom's hair. And finally, a mini-fridge filled with half-empty cans of Milwaukee's Best and dirty underwear. Yes, the underwear was IN the mini-fridge... Wow.
Anyhow, other than that their new place is charming, if requiring of some work, and they're going to have a house-warming pretty soon.
As per last year, my household seems geared to hold the double-decker back-to-back weekend Halloween Fiesta.
Even though I'm way in the hole right now, today was a great day, and I'm feeling really good right now.
