i had one of my favorite fridays ever (so far):
-it's gorgeous sunny skies here all afternoon. probably not as hot as most would like it, but absolutely perfect for me.
-i got a pile of cd's from the library, mostly that eccentric soul series of obscure soul labels, and they're making me ridiculously happy
-i have a dentist appointment for next week to fix my achy tooth, hopefully.
-i'm either going to a good show or the carnival tonight. both of these things tend to make me supremely happy. also, the hideout once had a pug dog at the door when i went to a show there, so i am ever hopeful that i will see him again. i will do most anything for a pug fix
-i have a cute boy snoozing next to me.
-i got to see my adorable niece for a little while today.
i hope everybody else's friday is going either supremely well or being drowned in drink, or maybe both. somebody on here pointed out how restless summer nights make her, and i have to concur. but it's a good kind of restless, like when you're talking to somebody you really desperately want to kiss and don't know how to make it happen.

If you like Bebel you might like some of the older stuff by Elis Regina. Astrud Gilberto is lovely but her voice is kind of cool and flat, not as rich and warm as Elis. Maria Bethania's voice is almost deeper than Bebel's, and she's a living legend, but it's hard to find her old old stuff.
