I have this idea for a story. In the 1940's, a hack writer having trouble selling his routine air war stories suddenly brings to his editor a real page-turner about an American flying ace fighting a future war against an Islamic empire called the Caliphate. But what could account for the former hack's seemingly improved writing ability?

Maybe it'is the inspiration of his new residence, a house formerly belonging to a great writer who mysteriously vanished. Then again, maybe it's the the fact that the house containes a portal permitting entry into other dimensions--that and the fact that the hack's supposedly fanciful stories...are all true.

I'm not that familiar with the current writers' market. Anyone have an idea where I could sell such a story?
