They won again, wtih Beltran hitting a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th. That puts the Mets 28 games over 500.! And to think people were surprised last year when they eked out a winning record.
For me, though, 2005 was like 1968, the year the Mets showed improvement, acquired some new talent (e.g. Tommy Agee, Tom Seaver the year before ) and brought in a decent new manager, Gil Hodges. Last year, the Mets brought up third-baseman David Wright from their farm team to join infield phenom, shortstop Jose Reyes, who came up in 2003, and hired a solid manager in Willie Randolf. Now all the pieces are in place.
When it happens this time, it won't be called a miracle, but the Mets are headed for another World Championship.

At least two people have ordered and already received. Even Amazon is saying it ships in 2-4 business DAYS.
