I finally decided what to do in the second act of my screenplay "Bordetown." The script's main plot: A private detective working out of La Frontera, a US/Mexican border hamlet, gets to the bottom of a Mexican version of the JFK assassination.

As the second act begins, it is the the eve of the US drug certification/decertification and Mexican drug csar/drug trafficker General Osorio is making a show of drug law enforcement. Pocho and his operative Bobby discover, however, that the general is only busting traffickers associated with one cartel, leaving the other alone. That was supposed to be the big plot point. But that's not enough. I have to keep the dramatic tension going.

I decided that, at this point, as Pocho is about to bring evidence to the prosecutor that Osorio is in cahoots with one of the cartels, Osorio's men capture him. I'll do a variation on the "James Bond is held captive while the bomb is about to go off" plot. Instead of preventing a bomb from exploding, however, Pocho and Bobby have to foil another assassination plot.

I'm thinking about doing something with the Pocho's college friend--the one who was set-up to take the rap for the Guerrero assassination. Pocho finds out his friend, who is now in prison, is about to be killed. Bobby could bust him out and then he and Bobby could come to Pocho's rescue.

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate them.
