this week started out well. bristol rovers won again (4th in the league now!), went ot a great gig (the ga-ga's at cardiff barfly) but then got very depressing on hearing the news of the death of the legendary John Peel.
In his honour I went a bought Napalm Death's "scum" on cd (i used to have it on vinyl until I lent it to a friend & never saw it again!!). I heard them for the 1st time on his show way back (86 or 87 I think) & it opened my eyes to a whole new scene I knew nothing about
You only have to look at the bands he helped to get their breaks to realise how much he'll be missed.
from the 60's with pink floyd through to the punk & reggae scenes of the seventies & on to indie bands such as the smiths, metal/hardcore legends napalm death & extreme noise terror up to more recently pulp

I think the penalty was reset cos the players came in the 18yrd before the kick
The Rovers guys who didnt get in did in a guest house on the seafront tho - that kinda sucks
Oh well, gotta get back on track !
