Slow motion night...dim and blur.
I watch a girl grind around onstage. No one seems particularly interested and she looks bored. There are a horde of drunk mexicans hogging the pool table as per usual.
She pulls a machete out of her dance bag and takes it between her palms, uncerimoniously slicing her own head off with the blunt blade. Her decapitated body slumps to the floor. You could hear the clatter of those cheap acrylic stillettos hitting the stage under her dead weight.
Everyone looks on. Distracted by their own thoughts. Too mired to even express any sort of gesture in reaction to what just took place.
A pimply faced man in overalls emerges to remove the body. He grabs the lifeless head by a fistfull of hair and tosses it into a nearly trash bin before grabbing the corpse under the armpits and dragging it offstage.
Suddenly, one man looks embarrassed. He forgot to clap for the performance. He slaps his palms together repiticiously for a few monents before a new girl is introduced......
And so it goes.
