Summer nights are the best.
Got wasted with a few friends last night at the Ringlers Annex and stumbled around town for a bit. EVERYONE was out and about. Saw alot of old familiar faces. Lots of people all tarted-up, ready to get thier "freak-on".
Vasaline Alley was teeming with horny queers, stalking around like dogs in heat. I hope that portion of Portland never changes. The yups have managed to take over practically everything else in town and bleed it of It's seediness. Stark is the only strip that had managed to stay pretty much unchanged throughout the years.
I dunno. I guess I'm a sap when it comes to that shit. I still remember when downtown was dangerous and interesting. I remember all the old buildings and every old haunt that I used to frequent. Now it seems like it is turning into just another yuppified metropolitain shit-hole.
Gotta make it feel safe for all those moneyed shit-heads I suppose. Not that I am opposed to having LOTS of money. I just prefer things the way they used to be. Even if I were rich, I would still favor sleaze and danger over ugly architecture and tinny R&B muzack...
But that's just me.....
