went to the sgsac bbq last night with selected members of my posse. i got to hang out with the lucious midori and the lucious dave h. it was a whole ton of fun and someone even took a pic of dancingyosarian's wang!
my alarm clock ran out of batteries and i ended up sleeping through my classes. but i went to bed at 2, so it felt damn good.
and old friend is back in town. i missed him. i dropped him off at his house and we ended up drinking tea and talking on the hood of my car for an hour or so. i am trying to get him on this site. i liked all the answers to the plant question. so keeping in line with the whole "what would you be" thing, if you were a fictional character, what/who would you be?

do you think people take the site too seriously? or are there just a bunch of assholes out there? i have been offended by some of the things i have seen on the boards before, but that is to be expected in any gathering of people; sometimes people are going to have differing (thanks leningrad) opnions than you do. either everyone should just be nicer, or everyone should just lighten up. maybe a little of both would be good.

i'm not sure if people take the site too seriously or not. on one hand, i want to tell people to get a goddamn life because it's only the internet... but i also think that the connections people make on sg and the internet in general can be very real, so i can understand hurt feelings and anger. i think if you see something you don't like either in real life or on the internet, it's very easy to either walk away from it or blow it completely out of porportion and cause a scene. if someone really thinks it is worth causing a scene... well, i probably won't pay attention unless i think it was worth a scene too.
