Hey, guys. My town is on fire.







The containment date set for the Waldo Canyon Fire is July 16th. So, realistically, we're looking at a few more weeks of evacuations and fire fighting.

Right now, Care and Share, a food bank for southern Colorado, is REALLY looking for snack type foods, protein bars, that sort of thing for the firefighters to put in their pocket to have while they're working on site. For now it seems that they're good on water. If anyone local wants to drop some stuff off, their information is in that link, and I'm sure monetary donations wouldn't hurt either.

Also, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region has taken in over 150 displaced animals since the fire started. They have plenty of supplies but are in need of monetary donations as well since they're vaccinating all of the animals they've taken in who need it. They're also in need of specific equipment (if you're local-ish), and there is a list of shelters and groups (with phone number) that are also accepting pets, and I'm sure they'll likely need donations or supplies in the next couple of weeks as well.
