Someone sent me a link to this article and I wanted to share. It has some interesting ideas on mental illness, it's prevalence in our modern society, and how it may have survived genetically because of it's advantages.

I rather like that and although it could be great fun debating the minutiae of his specific analyses, the most exciting part for me is that the main thrust is spot on. Ignorance of our own inherited instinctual behaviors and responses is behind the disparity between the world we have and the great shining future we anticipated decades ago purely as a function of what's possible due to technological advancement. For one single decade, NASA under John Kennedy showed what our species is capable of when politics and money are not given center stage but many other examples also exist. I'm fond of you because you've moved out of the primitive prehistoric competitive framework into the creative one. ❤️
