What a fantastic weekend I had. Me and Aydeen Amore got up early Saturday and made the trek to EDMONTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at first panic stricken for the weekend. Calgary got a white out blizzard conditions on Thursday. They said that the weekend was going to be much of the same and the highway was closed. I was thinking DAMN YOU MOTHER NATURE/MURPHY'S LAW! Why is it every time I have bookings to travel to another city you slam me with this?
Thankfully it was BEAUTIFUL! The highway was dry so we headed out to shoot!
I rented studio space at the Photographers Studio. That place was KILLER! I got some really beautiful sets out of the models/clients. I did a maternity session which I haven't done for a couple months now. Majority of my business is Boudoirs <3
I shoot my first cosplay tomorrow for our Comicon Releases. I cant effing WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a huge Harley Quinn fan and for once I get to use real revolvers in a set. My model is a bit nervous because we usually shoot with paintball/pellet guns but I lined up 3 revolvers from a collector who is really excited to see them in a shoot.
Tonight I've got a new model for our sites debut. When I asked her what she wanted for her first set she told me anything that involves BLOOD. So low and behold... her first set is a GORE ONE!.
Last fall we hired Persephone Bleeds. She lives far far up north and finally this weekend we photographed her debut and a 2nd set release. I am proud to say I got to shoot my naughty nun finally!!!! coming from a Catholic family I've been DYING to do this dark tale. I love fueling the fire for the ones who hate my work. That involves some of my family who felt the need to glorify my work as pornography. Its art you dumb asses!
I've been two years in business with Hazz Mat. Last week for the first time EVER someone flagged my personal Facebook as inappropriate. I got a text Thursday from a couple friends asking why I deleted them from my personal FB. I said WHAT? I never delete anyone! so I tried to log in from my phone. I couldn't so I fired up my computer and low and behold its FB warning me that I was sharing Pornographic/Nude Images.
I see way worse shit on Facebook. What angers me is that you feel the need to flag ME? That same night a model photo of mine was flagged on a Photographers page and he was down for a bit too. If you don't like me, my work you can just ignore or remove yourself from these pages. I just don't understand the jealousy card with people.
There are times when I look at images and think they are utter shit. There are times where I look at someone who stole my clients and I do feel jealous but I would NEVER be so classless as to flag your images so your page is down.
I am a HUGE American Horror Story fan. This season's Coven inspired me to tribute PAPA LEGBA. Ryan did a fantastic job at this. I've been itching to shoot with flour for a while now because it makes such neat images.
I got him to blow the soft white powder in his hands and we got this really cool white cloud. I've got a duo set coming up in the spring that we are using flour for. We planned on shooting it during our Hazz Mat Party but after the cleanup from this one I said we are using 10x the amount this one we should do outdoors. The models are wearing lingerie so we gotta wait for the warm weather.
Well back to the grind! I've gotta finish 8 sets from the weekend!! I should have some teasers to share this week <3
