I seriously can't believe people these days. SO this past weekend I threw a surprise birthday bash for my best friend Aydeen Amore. The past two years shes planned her own and no one shows up besides me and her other bestie. This year about a month ago, she said to me "My birthday lands on a Saturday... can you keep it clear so we can have dinner and get drunk off wine?? No one ever comes so I just want it us".
I smiled and said of course, put it in my phone, and lied right to her face. I was already on the ball with her friends, co-workers and other models for a surprise bday party at a local pub in Calgary.
So I picked her up on the afternoon, we went back to my house and SLOWLY got ready. It was so funny because usually Aydeen is on the ball, likes to head downtown early and beat the rush but today she was taking her cute sweet ass time. She kept saying "WTF! No one is replying to my texts about hanging out tonight.. I feel like I have no friends" I told her not to worry because I got enough wine to get us reaaaallly drunk after dinner.
She said you know.. fuck dinner... lets just drink here! we can order pizza? I said SURE.. then went into panic mode.. HOW THE HELL CAN I GET THIS GIRL TO THE PUB??? People are gonna be waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIGHT BULB WENT OFF
My text went off and I said DUDE THIS IS AN OMEN! My friend is bartending tonight! he told me he can give us free drinks all night lets do dinner there. and BAMN SHE WENT FOR IT!
We get to the bar and there is a HUGE table set up for us on the stage with the band.. I laughed because when I booked a table for 15 I thought they would give us a room upstairs. So she walks in and was jaw dropped! I spoiled her with a killer Betsy Johnson Bag and everyone was there with open arms. Later in the night the rest of the crew came down and it was a huge party.
We drank our faces off!!! I even got cut a deal on some drinks but the end of the night was not what I expected. Half of her friends that were at the table ordering food and shots all night said to us hey you know those apartments there across the street? Were sneaking out for a doobie/fireball shot come!!!!! I reply with I cant because I have to hold down the fort because more people are on the way. The group of six say "OKAY WE WILL BE RIGHT BACK!"
GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE CAME BACK! So the end of the night the waitress tells me that NONE of those six paid here is our bill. Its over $440!!! So with tip it was waaaay over my $200 budget for the night.. I just bought a bloody huge house and my mortgage comes out this week! $2500 I might add! so I paid her in what cash I had and put the rest on debit.
Today the girls are telling poor Aydeen they paid the bar CASH.. YEAH I AM SURE THEY DID fucking liars! how do you sleep at night knowing you ripped off one of your friends? Like I know we've all been there... walked out on a tab when your white girl wasted but when I tell you that you never came back, you never paid at least own up to it. Now Aydeen is feeling obligated to pay and I told her don't even dream of it.
One girl that night forwarded me $300 when I called them. She said to me on the phone OMG YOUR RIGHT! We went for a smoke but never came back! so she paid for those 3 and now is saying the other two said they paid for her share. LIARS ALL LIARS!
I just hope the karma train gives those girls a swift kick in the ass! Lesson learned! If I want to do something good for a friend... surprise them with a hotel night, a trip to vegas but I will NEVER plan a big party again.
