TGIF and MY BDAY!!!!!
That's right SG'ers! I am about to embark on my LAST year in my 20's. I am turning the BIG 29! I was almost a Canada Day Baby but sadly I was born on the morning of the 2nd. My mom always told the story of my birth to everyone lol so I figured I'd share it with you. My mom spent 48hrs in Labor on the July Long weekend back in 1983. After what seemed like forever they told my mom that I had the cord around my neck twice and they needed to get me out ASAP. I was a forceps baby and pulled out. When they got me out I was dead.
My mom bursted into tears and flipped out because she said it was 48hrs of hell and I was born dead from suffocation. As I layed dead on the table the nurse tried one last time to revive me and it worked.
I am a miracle baby.
Two years later and almost to the day my little sister was born. My Dad argued with my Mom about being in labor and that they had "hours" to get to the hospital look how long the first one was. Well when they finally got the hospital my Dad delievered my sister because she was coming down the birth canal and the doctors were not in yet so my Dad caught my sister with a nurse. My mom was ready to kill him.
So every year I celebrate my birthday as if I am a twin with my sister. Growing up we had matching parties, outfits and presents. Now we throw a huge party every year with a pub crawl, metal show but this year I am taking it easy with a BBQ house party.
So I am working on a few shows this summer and fall. After being booked at a all ages party I owed it to myself to get a members party for the adults. Then I can also showcase our art to sell. The stuff I have right now is not kid friendly so I am only bringing the G rated prints and clothes for the all ages bash.
Putting together the lineup of bands this weekend. I love love love putting on metal shows and one of my reg watering holes asked me if I would be willing to put on some parties and I thought that was a fab idea!
So I wrote a heated blog online and I had some amazing feedback from it. Inspiring stories of people who did good samaratin things for others. I wrote this blog after reading a story in the Metro News about the Tilted Kilt coming to Calgary. For all of you who don't know this chain its a scottish bar with girls who wear tiny kilts with a plaid bra and a white top that "exposes the mid drift". It caused a uproar in our city with the so called womans activists and it really pissed me off because if you don't like the attire stay the fuck away from the bar!. I happen to think they look smoking hot and I give kudos to women who can embrace their sexy side and work in such attire. I use to be one of these girls as I was a server/tub girl at one of Calgary's Hottest Night Clubs Cowboys. I never once bitched about being in daisy dukes with a bandana. I think they need to fry bigger fish then a lady in a short skirt.
