What's everyone's views on relationships? As a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic and passionate person, I am usually used to thinking that love and relationships are worthwhile...that there must be someone out there who will love you and appreciate you exactly for who you are, despite the fact that you have faults, because we all have faults...comes with being a human being. Problem is, It really is not that simple. We live in a world where people are naturally superficial (at least to a certain extent at minimum) and human beings by nature are selfish and at the end of the day want to do what is best for them, not for you/the relationship (generally speaking). You cannot blame someone for human nature necessary, however, we are all capable of making our own choices...so why do people consciously do things to hurt a person they claim to love? Makes you think sometimes

On another note...often times I will get home sick and sometimes it gets hard to handle. Being from Europe and coming to the States, you realize the difference in the two - strictly from a social standpoint. Things here (especially in NYC where I am currently located) are much more fast paced and people on the whole do not know how to slow down and enjoy life and just relax and not stress on things, especially things that just are not worth it. So it's always been tough to find people to share my life with who have similar views - maybe I can meet some cool people here who are similar...time will tell.
