What Is the Most Important Element in SG Photography?

Since I was 15/16 years old, I've followed suicidegirls on the internet and I've always really admired their photography and unique expression. When I was old enough, I joined the site and became a member... As time went by I saw that I had the ability and opportunity to be part of this incredible community and also express my artistic side as a model - but that was just the beginning.

When I created my first set I didn't have much idea of how to express myself and how I could do it, I was totally inexperienced as a model (and today I can be sure that this even helped me, this innocence). I've always really admired natural, smiling, spontaneous photos... almost always the ones that we're embarrassed to post on social media because they show real angles with belly folds and loose air - but it's EXACTLY THOSE that I love the most.

In my first photoset I was still reluctant to show them, like my natural breasts and stretch marks... but even though I didn't like them, I always admired empowered women who showed them. And so I tried. I tried not for myself but to be an example on the site and maybe motivate other girls like me to show who they really are too.

As time went by, I saw that just creating and expressing myself in front of a photographic lens was not enough, and so I started studying on my own through the internet and became a photographer too. From the beginning I used my modeling side to test limits and thus pass them on to models I would photograph. I've created photosets completely without the use of photoshop, smoking, cosplay, with heavy makeup and completely without makeup. With this I conclude that in my eyes, and perhaps those of my friends and SG members as well, what attracts me most about the unique photography we create here at suicidegirls, what matters most is the naturalness and authenticity of showing ourselves as we really are - who we are and with all our imperfections. That's what makes us unique, that's exactly what enchants those who are watching.

We are not just beautiful models, we are human with unique characteristics and all of them should be valued/appreciated because they are beautiful.

Today, my photographer side is winning... despite having stopped for a while during the pandemic as it was something that really affected me a lot, but it is making me evolve as a human being and person. Today I understand better how I work and this time off the air was to better learn how to deal with the ~human haub side~ that is also part of the photographer package - Not just the lens and camera. During this time I discovered that I have ADHD and possibly bipolar (still in therapy) and with that I am learning to love myself more and how to deal with myself, despite all my flaws, this is what makes me unique too.

Buttt... all that only makes me understand and want to encourage other girls to accept themselves as they really are (physically and mentally) and help them express themselves without the pre-established aesthetic pressure in this era of social media where everyone is happy and perfect - because this is not real.

I can also say that it is an achievement and personal satisfaction when I talk to someone I have photographed and I can explain how important natural photos are... at first they are apprehensive but then they always end up falling in love with themselves and being able to see how beautiful naturalness is and spontaneity.

I've photographed friends who were embarrassed about smiling photos, but after talking to me and me creating a really fun environment to capture spontaneous laughter, they started to love their own smile. THIS is what i love most!

After all these examples I'm smiling alone in front of the computer just thinking that I'M CRAZY TO PHOTOGRAPH AGAIN AND CREATE BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE PHOTOSETS!

When I see photos of laughter, of unique natural expressions, sparkle in the eyes that convey the energy of comfort and happiness... that's exactly what captures my attention the most in photography. And you, what catches your attention the most in a SG photograph?

As a part-time SG hopeful photographer, I enjoy capturing sets that take a bit of a journey or tell a story of sorts - a mix of portraits, full body and close ups that portray the model's beauty and not just boobs and ass. I think SG is missing the arty side of things a bit these days, and replaced natural beauty and blemishes with over done edits that hide every detail that makes a model who they are. And yes, I'm guilty of this as well.
