I'm stressing the fuck out. I want to go back to study next year and do a graphic design course. I spoke to the course co-ordinator and she said i need to have a portfolio! I have ZERO work to put in it, and ZERO artistic ability. And i have to complete an entire folio in a few months. Look, i can trace like a motherfucker and bite peoples ideas, but i don't think that's gonna cut it somehow.

The main reason i want to do this course is, so i have a medium (media) to express my ideas. I have so many epic, depraved and beast ideas! You have to trust me on this one. I do! But, i don't know how to translate them into art. I can't get them out of my head and on to paper, or onto the computer screen. I can write. Writing has always come naturally to me. But i want to be able to let my imagination run wild in another way. It's frustrating..

I spoke with one of my old lecturers on Friday and he said he would be happy to help me put a portfolio together. He's rad. A bit of a space cadet too. But the only way i will get in to the course, is if he just does the entire portfolio for me. Arghhhhh. I'm so boned.

So.. i guess i'm just going to smoke a whole lot of drugs and hope for some inspiration.

I just graduated with my associates degree in graphic design. A portfolio isn't that hard to put together....
Try doing some logos first to get ideas out... I find that logos always help me create something awesome and get ideas flowing, even if you need to redesign someones logo it will help with ideas.
Flyers are good too, cuz you can design a flyer for anything. Pick something you are really into, like a band or an artist or something that you have interest in then it makes it easier!
And you can always use Adobe Illustrator to create Illustrations, even if you have to have a template layer with image to trace from to start your illustration, you will find by the end of it you are not even using the template any more and are creating you own illustration!biggrin
