I'm a dad finally!!!
Laura went into hospital at about 11am ish with contractions. Doctors were great. No water broken. They sent us home at 14:30, for a hour, so we went my sisters, it being closer to the hospital. Laura had a bath there and I mooched some food off her. While in the bath laura's waters broke. Up side my sis didn't mind, so woo hoo.
Went back into hosptial @ 15:45. They put us more or less straight onto the labour ward, which was fine. About 19:00 (ish) was told to go home, feed Mr Gopher and Miss cookie, and eat. Just before I went I rang my mum, who told me the same thing, on that she'd cook for me. Huzar, more food mooch-age. We got back to hospital about 20:20. Laura was fine, more labour pains, and they were a bit concerned about some of Mitchells heart readings but they were leveling out.
Then, around about 10, something happened. God knows what. This midwife who was with us, said something into the corridor, 3 doctors enter and a sister, tell her to take all her jewlery off, sign a concent for, and for me to pack up our stuff as she was going to have a c-section. Aparently he was wrapped up in his cord... Just like I was 26 and a half years ago. Anyway they had to put laura under a general anistetic, and at 22:18 Mitchell Thomas McDonald made his grande entrance into the world. 8 pound heavy, 54cm long. Yes I know we use a mixed up collection of metric and imperial in the UK.
Laura turned up a bit later. We were in recovery till 3am. Problems with Laura's blood presure not settling down right. She's off there now, got her own little room to her self.
Here are some pictures I took with my phone (which I had to put on "Face-vomit"... or book which ever... too big for on here!! grrr
)
First ever picture about 5 mins before laura saw him
Mitchell with the Turtle that toozy made... Yes, those are socks on his hands btw. Laura forgot to pack scratch mitts, so we got inventive.
