Tomorrow the U.S. Eights will race in the final. One of the women in the girls eight was a very close friend of mine in high school. Back then, thre were only a few people on our tiny little club team that had just been started a few years earlier. Now she's the bow seat of the Olympic eight. And they're ranked first.

But it's still anyone's race as long as they've got the Romanians to contend with. Not to mention the other four nations who are all going to be pulling their asses of to try and get a medal.

Please, God, let them have a good race. Please.

And it's my birthday on Monday. The sweetest gift will be the end of this camp. The lamest thing is I have to start putting some of my stuff in storage.

It's not good to write entires early in the morning because they usually come out pretty bland.
