I accidently locked my roomates door an needed a paperclip to open it. I went to two delis and two laundromats down the street. No one spoke English well enough to understand what a paperclip was. Finally, I demonstrated the concept to an old Chinese man. He got it. I opened the door. I think I freaked out a woman and her kid when I came out of the 2nd or 3rd place and silently mouthed "FUUUUUUUCK!"
Whatever man, people should speak English, and if they don't they should have a lot of paperclips around.

We missed you at the magazine thing, hope all is well. It gets me insane when I see people speaking to young children in other languages, I have no problem with embracing your heritage, I just think people should work harder to assimilate. There is a difference between cultural pride and being practical. Some will give the argument that half the world speaks language X, or that in other countries people are bilingual I have news for you this isnt half of the world, or another country its America, speak whatever you want on your own time but when in public make an effort to speak the language of the land.
