Let's review.
Mixed drinks go in highball glasses, with 1 oz. (or a four count if your pouring) of whatever alcohol. A highball used to be a drink on its own, but has since become a type of glass.
"On the Rocks" drinks are served in much shorter glasses. If someone orders a Gimlet, they must specify whether they want Vodka or Gin.
A Cosmopoliton and a Metropoliton are very similar, but instead of the citrus vodka, you use Absolut Currant.
It used to be the Cointreau was the only Triple Sec. However, there is a much cheaper version now used for mixed drinks. No one would ever order Triple Sec on the Rocks, but someone might order Cointreau that way.
A Manhattan is just a Martini with Whisky instead of Vodka, and sweet vermouth instead of dry vermouth. You don't push someone to use Johnnie Walker Black Label in a Manhattan becuase it's too powerful. If someone asks for for a Southern Comfort Martini, you use dry vermouth instead of dry vermouth becuase Southern Comfort is flavored with peaches, and is sweet enough as it is.
If someone asks for a dry Manhattan, then you use dry vermouth.
However, if someone asks for an extra dry MARTINI, you don't add any vermouth at all.

Scoth Whisky (Scoth) comes from Scotland.
Jack Daniels comes from Mississippi.
Maker's Mark comes from Bourbon, a place in America.
The list goes on!
The sad thing is, even though I have a degree from one of the "best" schools, my bartending certification might be the most valuable degree I ever recieve.
And the SGNY party last Firday was fun, but I spent more time in transit (three hours) then I did at the party (two hours) and I fucking LIVE in Brooklyn. God damn you late night subways, and god damn you for making two different DeKalb stops miles and miles apart. When I got off at the first DeKalb stop, I walked into an Applebee's to get directions. It was packed, but I was the only white guy there. And if you new exactly how very caucasian I am, you would find this funny.
