So I got the NEW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys.

All these childhood memories came flooding back. I remembered just how much I love TMNT.
Keeping that in mind, you should also know that these toys make me want to cry.

But in a good way.

Here's my review:
I got Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Shredder, and a Foot Soldier. I didn't get Splinter, 'cause his figure looked like it would suck.

Overall figures: The Turtles and the Foot Soldier are all great, but Shredder is pretty lame. With the Turtles, they have great arm articulation (ball-jointed), but their legs are pretty limited, mobility-wise. Each Turtle comes with two of their respective traditional weapons (Raph's sais, Leo's swords, etc.), two generic ninja stars, and a different alternative wepon. I also really like how they blend the comic and cartoon styles with regards to the colored bandanas: The face bandana is the individual Turtle's color, while the arm and knee ones are all off-green/brown. The Shredder and Foot Solider come with two generic (but different from the Turtles') shrukins.

Leonardo: My favorite figure. Which is surprising because I never really liked the character that much. I always thought he was a boring, "vanilla" leader that the creators try to force you to like, like Superman or Captain America. His articulation is simple, which makes it rock; no fancy b.s. to screw his look up. I don't have one complaint about him.
His alternative weapon is a pair of suction-cup climbing things. They fit okay in his hands, but not in the other Turtles'. So you can't interchange. But I don't use them, anyway, so no big deal.

Raphael: Just like Leonardo, his articulation is simple, which is great. It makes for easy posability and ninja action. Unlike Leo, though, I have a complaint. They put the sai holsters directly underneath his arms. So it's kind of a pain to get them in and, once you do, you can't move the arms without hitting the sais.
His alternative weapon is a pair of grappling hooks attached to a string. This also comes with a handlebar he can apparently slide down the string on. The handlebar even has a moving wheel, which is a detail that, while not really impressive, is still a neat step up from older toys.

Donatello: Just like Raph: great figure with only one complaint. And it's a very minor one. See, he comes with two boes, but the holster in back only really fits one of them. When you put both of them in, they have to stick straight up. I guess I'm just used to having his bo at an angle. And yes, I am aware of how stupid that complaint is. Anyway, I think it's necessary to point out that his facial expression makes him look a lot like Garth; it's pretty funny.
The choices for his alternative weapons are strange. He comes with an axe and a machete, weapons which just seem to go against everything that Donatello is. It's like if an O action figure came with a bucket of cheeseburgers.

Michelangelo: And they're finally spelling it right. smile He was always my favorite character. But this figure gets the most complaints out of the four. The first and biggest complaint is about his right arm. They had to position it weird so that his alternative weapon would work better. So, as a result, it constantly sticks out at a 45 degree angle. It just looks really dumb. Also, his weapons kind of suck. The plastic they're made of is so rigid and unflexable that, if you put them in the holster and then take them out, they will stay in the same position for... well, it's been six days and they still haven't moved.
His alternative weapon is a grappling hook attached to a big machine. It's actually kind of cool. The string it's attached to runs through the machine and comes out of both ends. So, instead of hooking to something and pulling the machine yourself, you can actually move the thing just by pulling one end of the string. Which is something you wouldn't've seen even five years ago.

Shredder: Sucks. Except for one thing, I have no fondness whatsoever for this figure. I hate everything from the new design (only one claw? c'mon...) to the way they made one arm bent and one arm straight. The reason they made one arm unmovably straight is so he can hold his big spear. And the spear is pretty cool. His legs and arms are ball-jointed, but only the right arm can move at the elbow.
His other weapons are two swords that connect at the bases two form a long, double-bladed spear (think Darth Maul's light saber). But when used individually, look so stupid it makes me want to punch myself in the nuts.

Foot Soldier: Same articulation as the Turtles': Arms are really movable, but legs suffer. And while the new designs are nice (very sleek), I like the original Foot Soldiers better. It comes with two bigger, flashier swords like Leo. And just like Leo, I don't have any complaints (the design thing is more of a... um, statement). Cool figure.
His secondary weapon is a crossbow that actually fires stuff. But unlike other actual-firing crossbows, this uses an actual string and lever system to fire. However, the arrow is attached to the string, so it doesn't go anywhere. And while this sounds lame on paper, the actual system is pretty enjoyable to use. Yes, sir, I like it.

And that's it for me. If you actually read this, I owe you a hug and a juice box. Although they may not come in that order.

ok not really, but any man who can give me an extensively detailed description of the TMNT toys, and then offer me a hug and a juice box at the end of it, and then calls himself a nerd is damn sexy in my book. yeah, my books a little strange.
i think you SHOULD get green lanterns ring tattooed. and dont worry, your music list is good enough, as long as the beatles nirvana and pink floyd are on it, bananas in pijamas.
