If there's only one reason why I enjoy Memorial day, it's the flashback weekends on the radio. Not only do I get my usual fix of two stations worth of rock from the 60's, 70's, some 80's, and select songs from the early 90's along with an entire station dedicated to music from the 50's and 60's, but the stations that play all the shitty new music give me nothing but glorious, GLORIOUS 80's new wave and early-90's rock. 
In a perfect world, it would be Memorial day weekened every day.
And here's a little story to make this entry look long and intimidating.
I was looking for a birthday card for my sister the other day when I ran into this girl I used to go to high school with. She came up and said, "Hey, I know you! You were in my theatre class in high school!"
"No, YOU were in MY theatre class," I told her.
"Oh," she looked a little freaked out, but was determined to continue the stupid conversation. "I know your name... oh, shoot... it's on the tip of my tongue."
"Morris," I said, lying.
"Yeah, Morris!" She almost started jumping up and down in delight.
"And you were..." I paused. "Rachel, right?"
"Yeah, Rachel!" She squealed. "Wow, I can't believe you remember me."
"I don't," I informed her.
She looked confused. "You know, I was always a little scared of you. I always thought you were on drugs all the time." (Which is a comment I get EVERY TIME I run into someone from high school.)
"Who says I wasn't?" (Which is what I always answer with.)
"Oh... I..."
"I bet it was you! Wasn't it? ADMIT IT!"
"I..."
"Yeah, I can tell it was you. I can smell fear. And lies. You stink of lies, little missy."
"Yeah, okay, great. Freak." Then she walked away.
And as I stood in the greeting card aisle, a birthday wish from Popeye in my hand, I thought to myself, "...whoa. This is my life happening right now."
True story.
