I has recently been pointed out to me that I don't update my journal often enough (hello H + D), so now seems like as good a time as any.

I've been having a lazy few days, since I still don't know when I'll be starting my PhD. The upshot of which is that I can't really get a job and my finances are starting to drain. On the other hand, the hospital project is starting to come together and looks quite good.

I also keep adding new things to my "to do" list. Learning sign language for instance, something I've been wanting to do for a couple of years.

I've been thinking about this whole G8 thing some more and what bothers me is this: I have an inherant distrust of people who use the phrase "the cause". I also know a couple of People and Planet types who I like... but most of the others just seem to go along with any "good cause" that comes along, regardless of what the facts actually are. This is only in my experience, mind. I do not wish to tar them all with the same brush.

I suppose we'll have to see how it turns out...
