What's been happening?? Everything and nothing! It's summer and hot as fuck over here at the moment, but it's been good because less clothes and more beach trips for the win!
I've started back at the gym and have been seeing a personal trainer which has been AWESOME though I think he's slowly trying to kill me. It's so so good to get back into fitness though and it's exactly the ass-kicking I need to make it all happen! I've got to trim up my Christmas pudding a bit because in March I'm shooting with the beautifuls @coolicio & @frankndame and hopefully also soon with @mattjamesbrewer & @suilewie71 as well.
So @coolicio is organising this massive international shoot-fest here in Australia this November @rambo & @missy thats going to be amaaaaazing! So many talented and beautiful people coming along. We're also having our annual ball during the same time so it's going to be a babe-fest that's for sure🙌🏻
Have been blessed to have a couple of little SG catchups to tide me over in the last few weeks, which is always great! Got to have lunch at this yummy vegetarian place with the beautiful @peggysue when she was in town with one of my favourite girls @kiah_xx 💖 Also at work the other night, I had a visit from @exkyu @countessa @twiggy & @kiah_xx which was super wonderful. I love these people so fucking much. We have the best SGAU community you guys. So supportive of each other and really genuine kind souls.
So I finally finished making all of the bobby-pins for my glass exhibition coming up in March in Sydney. I made 80 for an installation, and am going to get some professional images taken, but here's a happy snap from when I had about 50 made, so you get the idea..
They've been really fun to make, I like doing repetitive making, it's very technical, meditative, and satisfying! I'll post some pix when it's finished. I'll be displaying a couple on a bit of card to give it some context.
So on Thursday I'm GOING TO SYDNEY!!! I'm yelling this because I can't fucking wait for a mini holiday! Booked an airbnb and going with my absolute bestie for an overnight trip to see one of our favourite bands, The Pierce Brothers. They are super sweet guys from Melbourne that I love to see play live. It's an instant energy lift and can fuel that positive happiness for days after-effect that's like no other band
They also do a lot of busking when they travel
You would love them, seriously so good. And pretty spunky as well!
While we're in Sydney I'm getting a new tattoo!!
I'm going back to see Melanie Milne who did the hour-glass tattoo on my thigh. She is so awesome. She does heaps of Simpsons tattoos so I'm finally getting the one I've wanted for ages. It's kind of an obscure reference to the Bart ruins Thanksgiving episode and a mix between a few things for me, but basically it's going to be Homers car stereo with the words 'Hooray For Everything' which is the band that appears in 2 episodes and makes me laugh my fucking ass off.
It's also something I say all the time, "Hurray for Everything" and often hashtag it on my Instagram page. I can't wait to get this tattoo. I'll post some pix when it's done.
I've also been getting crafty even though it's summer and learning to Nana-knit on circular needles. My friend in Victoria shears, spins, and hand-dyes wool that's super beautiful so I made a beanie the other day and kept myself occupied:
I'm getting some brown and blue wool from her soon and going to make some other wintery garment! I love winter it's my favourite season and I obviously can't wait to get cold again.
