I went to Buffalo today to my soon to be closed favorite record store, Home Of The Hits. I've been going there for about 15 years or so. The owner has gotten older and is no longer making enough for someone in their 40s to live on. Basically, technology is kicking the ass of the mom and pop record store. It was sad because no...

comradesnarky:
Damn, that sucks.
Little record stores like that are precious gems, it's a shame that they're getting rarer and rarer with each passing day. I'd stop in if I could make it up to Buffalo before heading home, but I doubt my dad's gonna be willing take a two hour+ side trip. Boo.

After yesterday's disaster of an attempt to post a photo, I figured I had better try again and write something here. I listened to nearly all the Fugazi albums Sunday. I skipped The Argument and I didn't feel like looking for the Instrument soundtack, but otherwise I went through the whole catalog.

Hey there stranger. Don't I know you from somewhere?

comradesnarky:
Thanks for the advice and well wishes. My profs have been ridiculously understanding, so it looks like everything will pan out ok.

Maserati at Soundlab in Buffalo, December 9, 2006.
I went to the Supernaut Pagan Christmas Party at Soundlab last night. It didn't seem like much of a Christmas party, which I guess is the point. It seemed like every other time I've been to Soundlab, which is fine by me. I'm not into the holiday. Anyway, Maserati were amazing. Completely instrumental...

Mercury Rev did not happen. There was a death of the father of one of the band members - either the keyboard player or the drummer. I'm not sure. It's sad because there was a big feature in the Buffalo News on Friday about the show, coupled with the overall loss of a family member. I don't think the band has played in Buffalo since...

It has been one busy ass week. I spent far longer at work than I should have been. The good thing is I'm taking sports pictures, but the bad thing is I have to do a lot of other stuff, too. It sucks being the only photographer at a small town newspaper. You end up having to "fix" a number of things all the time....

Happy Thanksgiving.
I was out tonight. It was like a normal Friday two days early. Some friends dragged me out earlier than I wanted, but it was OK. I avoided the trap of playing foosball. I don't mind a game, but I have no desire to play it all night long any more. I would rather socialize with people. I don't have to work until...

I suck at foosball. We played it when we were in Mexico last week. The only time I won was when I had someone playing on my "team". It's still fun, as long as you don't play for hours and hours... I find that hurts my hands a lot.

I was hanging out with this girl I'm friends with tonight. I have no idea what's going on between us. I'm not sure if we are only friends or if she wants a more serious relationship. I could go either way, but it is really bothering me, I spend too much time thinking about this sometimes. The only positve I have is that I didn't...

drunk e-mail is bad, probably not as bad as drunk telephone call though. Although at least with drunk telephone call there is a chance they won't answer.

maybe dumb... but no I think funny! haha that was great
My plan was to go to Buffalo to Dirty On Purpose tonight. I didn't get to cut out of work early and stayed at the office until midnight, like I do every other Friday. The boss is on a medical leave and some of the staff are taken some liberties with this, like the person who could have covered for me. Oh, well. I keep...
