I'm finally getting caught up. In addition to the day job and teaching art at night, I take sports photos for the local newspaper on Friday nights. I used to be the photo editor there and when I left to work at the printshop, I kept on as a freelance photographer. For this high school football season, I would go to one game, snap the pics, go back to office, do up a couple photos for print and be done. It would take about three hours tops. Then on Sundays I'd put all the good photos on the paper's website. It worked out that I would get paid 50 buck for 4 hours of work. Not bad and it's something I enjoy doing.
On a normal weekend, I use the rest of the time for grading and getting ready for the next week's class, relaxing, skateboarding, drinking, whatever. This weekend there were high school football playoff games in Buffalo at Ralph Wilson Stadium. This is where the Bills play. I had Friday off since the games were on Saturday. I spent Saturday taking photos of the two local teams that were playing. On Sunday I spent the whole afternoon uploading the good photos to the paper's website. This took forever, but I wanted to get it done. I figured out the minimum I needed to have done for class and took care of that. It sucked because we are starting color study and painting this week, which meant I had more stuff to get ready than on a normal weekend with less time to do it. I graded art after class on Monday and Tuesday. That made for a long couple of days. I still have some midterm papers to read over, but that isn't a big deal. I'm glad I have the full weekend coming up and a Thanksgiving break soon.
