I went to see Andy Rourke DJ at Soundlab last night. He played bass in the Smiths. He is doing a DJ tour right now. The show was OK. I mean he only played CDs and stuff off his iPod, so it's not like it was the most exciting thing ever. He played a bunch of early 90s Brit pop type stuff mixed with some Clash, Who and Rolling Stones. Before he started, the opening DJ played a bunch of Smith's songs. That's got to be a little bit weird for the guy. Hearing something you made twenty years ago blasting over a PA in a club in somewhere. I wonder what he thinks of it all. I wonder if he cringes a little or if it makes him smile, knowing he was part of a band that is so important to so many people? It looked like he was enjoying himself, so I'm guessing he is happy where he is at.
