LOTUS, I know where your new store is now, I drove straight south and there it was; barely two blocks away! We should do lunch this week before I hit work if our schedules match!
Someone, (I think I know who) didn't like me having a coffeebreak for like 15 - 20 minutes with my old (and very hot) boss last week at work. I go, get, and eat lunch in like 10 - 15 minutes on a regular basis, so WTF, whats 20 minutes with a sexy woman!?! We are entitled to two 15 minute breaks and a half hour lunch each shift...
So, no attractive women dropping in on me and stealing me away for a sanity break until I get that nasty tell-it-all a promotion OUT OF OUR STORE! I am tweaking their resume this weekend to plump it up a bit! (Notice the total gender unspecificness of that last paragraph?)
Speaking of promotions, a posting at regional office just became available. Its a smaller, regional version of a national training / coaching position I had like 10 years ago...
It would be lots of home based work, with tons of driving to and from the stores. Lots of opportunity to drive my BMW on company time!
I would train all the new sales staff, and be on hand for all the major regional functions, and public events like the Stampede! My office would be like 25 stories up in the Petro Canada Tower downtown! It places me in Regional Office which is sweet if I want to climb those corporate rungs!
My guess is it would be around the same annual pay (SWEET!) but without the wild pay swings from cheque to cheque from commissions. It would be suit and tie at the office and the stores, but nothing but underwear and socks while working at home till they go to web cams!
It would get the "gotta make your daily sales, accessories, and warranty numbers" issue off my back. That would be a real plus! The down side is most of the staff (see above) is EXCELLENT at the current store; including (hard to believe) the management! Tough to leave a good, smooth running team.
