Gearing up for the big Joust!
The Great Lake Tourney held annually at Taupo is coming up in a couple of weeks - really looking forward to it! My love and I will be camping together again of course - he's an angel to camp with. Hopefully we are sorting a fire pit-tray so we can have a raised fire - it's never sure if we can dig firepits until a few days before the event - so we're trying to plan ahead.
I'm (rather ambitiously) sewing a new 14th century dress by hand. It may or may not be ready in time! I have others, machine-made... but it would be great to have an authentically made one.
We're working on a leather backgammon board, a wax-tablet for writing on, and a few other bits and pieces. At this rate I think we should enter our camp site in the Living History competition, as we really have made the effort to be authentically 14th century!
