Thanks everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes I had a great time going to the bars with a nice crowd of my friends, and then last night I saw Animal Collective in concert, which certainly was an experience. I got some marvelous gifts as well: an espresso machine, the first two seasons of The Office, piano lessons (I'm self-taught, haven't had lessons since I'm six, so I'm excited), a month-long yoga pass to my favorite studio, poetry books (which I always need more of!), and beautiful pink pearl earrings with tiny diamonds attached to the bottom of them. I feel spoiled and happy.

I really want to get another tattoo soon. There's one I've wanted for quite some time, but I can't decide on a language to get it in. My name means "wise" and so I wanted to get that tattooed on my left ankle, probably in dark blues and greens, but I don't want it in english. I've been thinking about getting it in gaelic (since my name's gaelic), hindi (I love the language, and I love the Indian culture), arabic (it's beautiful sounding, looking), or german, since a large part of me is german, both by blood and by experience. The issue here is that I don't know what translations I can trust; I don't know anyone who knows arabic, hindi, or gaelic. Well, maybe I could find someone to do a translation in hindi. Is anyone at least semi-fluent in one of these languages? I doubt anyone is in gaelic, but maybe one of the other two? I want to get this tattoo badly, and soon; I've been wanting it for years.
