Blink-182 came to Bakersfield last night! I haven't seen them since I was 15, so I was a little worried about how they'd sound after all these years...I was scared that I hyped them up too much in my mind and they would disappoint me. Happily, I was SO impressed! They were just as good as I remembered...and just as immature. Love it!
Taking Back Sunday opened for them...and they also impressed me. This is my third time seeing them, and the last two have royally sucked. I guess that old clich really is true: third time's a charm! Even if they did suck though, I'd have to give them props...they ARE from Long Island. :-)
And then there was Asher Roth. Who the hell IS this guy? One of his little DJs or whatever came onto stage carrying his MacBook Pro...I wondered if he was going to hook up his iPod to the sound system and play whatever torrents he's downloaded for us, hahaha. Insanity. Asher Roth is supposedly from suburban Pennsylvania, but he speaks like he's straight out of Detroit or something... since when is it cool to pretend to be someone you're not?
Anyway, kickass night!
