My mother feels a little better. Mostly because there will be no operation. She got x-rayed and the broken vertebra seems to be healing all right without an operation. She is still not allowed to get up or even sit up and lying in bed all day gives her a hard time. I think this is the best way to stop smoking... and she said, she will not start smoking again (but she has said this at least a dozen times before in similar situations)

I wont be around for the next four weeks as I have a training course near munich, about 600 miles away. When I'm back I still can visit my mother in hospital, I guess
